Yoga retreat in beautiful gardens in the village of Amieira, Portugal

Last February, my wife, 2 kids, golden retriever called Moses and I, left all we were doing in London – our jobs, our schools, our usual parks, our family – bought a motor home and set sail for a year with the aim of discovering a new place in Europe to live.
We did it. After 6 months visiting the mountains in France, Spain, Italy and finally Portugal, we together with some mates of ours, have bought a village and land in central Portugal in which to live self sufficiently and set up a yoga retreat within acres of beautifully tended forest gardens.
I have joined to find out more about what is happening in this project in Fiji and to connect with anyone geographically near us in Portugal interested in similar things.
If you’re interested you can find out more about how we magically found our place from the September entries in our Poop in Europe Tour blog and get in touch.

Sounds fantastic Andrew – all the best with your yoga retreat. If you have any advice on self-sufficient living or examples of what you’re doing, it would be great to hear those as well.
Hi Andrew… your vision sounds inspiring. We fell in love with Portugal when we were there and enjoy going back as often as possible! Would be nice to hear more about your project!
Hi Andrew,
I’m currently contemplating a similar move to your own (minus the buying of village and yoga retreat!)to Portugal with my wife and daughter. Would be great to hear how things have gone for you and your family.
