Flights
Bula Bula….
I just want to leave some advice for all those going to Vorovoro soon, please please please do not book your flights or any travel through STA as I`m afraid they will charge you a darn sight more than is really needed. For example, my main flight from the UK to Fiji cost me more than £175 more than if I booked it direct with Air New Zealand andas of today, I went into an STA agents near me to book the internal flights and they were wanting over $500 fijian!!!!! which worked out to be about £190. I went on www.pacificsun.com.fj and got the flights for just over £97, so it works out STA could have conned me out of nearly £300. SO BE WARNED, book the your travel arrangements seperatley, I thought it would be a minefield but its not too bad. Drop me a line if you need any help.

Bula Jason,
I was also going to book my flight from Nadi to Labasa through STA for ease, but I completely agree with you, it is really simple to do it on the link you have provided, I just managed to book mine for £82 – which in comparison does save a lot of money – however I have a brilliant travel agent at STA and would definately say to go to them if you have any queries and to book certain flights, they have been a great help in organising my round the world trip :)
Yep your totally right I checked out STA travel and thought they were a joke,I booked my flight to Labassa with Air pacific for £99, so its definately worth doing some searching on the web for prices and booking yourself, all these agents add on there own commission on top of flight prices.
Bula all. I live in Fiji, and am always looking for flights from the uk to Fiji. I find that often the best way is to book separate legs – ie get a good deal from London to LA return, and then Air Pacific from La to Nadi return. Korean Air also do good deals from London to Seoul to Nadi, and it’s the quickest way to get there.
Thanks for the timely information guys. I must admit to being slightly worried when I realised that the fare from Bristol to Nadi was around £1000. What is the target price when shopping around?
Thanks,
I booked London-Nadi with Air New Zealand yesterday for £725 leaving mid April. Their site is pretty good as you can search the dates on a grid to find the cheapest combination of outbound/return dates – they can vary by a few hundred quid day by day, just depends which flights have been heavily booked already.
I booked my Mum to go out using separate BA / Air Pacific flights via LA and it was £300 cheaper than Air New Zealand for the same dates. The Air Pacific site is good, and their Bula Special fares are very cheap.
As you head into July ANZ fares start to head upwards, during August you’re looking at almost £1300. Virgin / Air Pacific comes in at about £1100, but you could probably do cheaper booking separate flights.
Advice is about 72 hours too late for me but who cares … I’m going to Vorovoro!! Anyway, STA quoted me £1170 for the London – Nadi via LA trip. I was scanning ebookers etc as we looked at various permiatations and that seemed about right, but I am sure cheaper is possible. Used Pacificsun for the Nadi – Labassa leg which was best price I found.
Bula all. Just thought would share flight stories as well. I went to STA twice, and both times they were particularly awful. So I tried Flight Centre instead, and they were fantastic, doing their best to scout around for the best flights on the dates I wanted. I was looking to be more expensive for me because I am flying from Edinburgh, but eventually got flights with Korean Air (via Seoul) for £950. Would also reommend checking out Opodo as they seemed to have some good prices.
