Almost there and counting the days
I lay awake at night imaging myself heading off for LHR to catch the plan to Nadi, what it will be like getting the flight to Lambasa and then the boat to Vorovoro – its now 3 August and I have another 11 days to wait. I feel like I did when I was a child waiting for my parents to say ‘It’s time to go’. No parents telling me, just me and a heightend sense of excitement (much like a child though! I noted the list of wanted items was last updated in June – it’s a great list but if anyone has anything to add please let me know and I will do my very best to bring it/them along with me.

Bula Sia Sue,
the main thing ur need is a good wind up torch, cause boy does it get dark out there. There might be lots of items like mossie nets left behind on the sharing shelf but take good mossie repellent for the nights as ur get plagued by sand flies on ur feet. Have a good first aid kit with lots of creams and tough medical tape. When u get there u get a quick tour of the shops so go and get lots of zan du balm to sooth those bites. If u got a nintendo DS then u can have competitions against Jimbo. But mainly take urself as u dont really need all that stuff ur end up dragging half way round the world. Have fun, ur love it.

Sue…you’re going to have such an awesome time (think of the fun in the lakes and multiply about a million times)! Enjoy every moment!
You’re making me so excited about my return visit….and i’ve got 8 weeks to go!
Can’t wait to hear all about your adventures.

Bula sia Sue! I am so glad you are getting excited and imagining the journey and island already. Once you get here you will realise how hard this place is to describe…so many projects going on, so many fascinating people, so much to learn and take in and natural beauty everywhere! You will love it I’m sure and we are looking forward to having you here!
In regards to what to bring, we are always really grateful for any eco-friendly products, especially washing up liquid. Eco Cover is a good make, I seem to remember it was sold in most supermarkets in the UK so hopefully you will be able to find it. Also, eco friendly shampoo and conditioner is always good to take to the pontoon for a communal wash and will be very much appreciated by everyone!
A BIG VINAKA VAKA LEVU and we shall see you very soon :)
