Culture and sustainability

In the past few years we have seen the confluence of the environmentalists and the social justice movement. At this point in history, in almost every area of life, we see can see the seeds of chaos and suffering. However, for those who choose to look a bit further, the seeds of rejuvenation and peace can also be found. It is up to us to decide which seeds we will water with our thoughts and actions.
Dr. Wade Davis, an anthropologist and ethnobotanist has eloquently described where we might find the answers to the questions we all face. He believes that through protecting the storehouse of human knowledge contained within and gathered by the worlds indigenous cultures through centuries of trial and error, in what he terms the ethnoshpere, we will be protecting our collective cultural heritage and road map to a sustainable and harmonious world.
Wade Davis spoke recently at TED conference in Southern California and I wanted to share the video of his talk with all of you. It gave me a more solidified vision of what we are actually doing on Vorovoro and how this project fits into the puzzle.
